A very special location and certainly one of the most beautiful in Leipzig, is the southern cemetery (Südfriedhof). With its numerous ancient tombs, it offers countless places for photo shootings. The Southern Cemetery is 82 acres with the largest cemetery in Leipzig. It is located in the south of Leipzig in the immediate vicinity of the Battle of the Nations monument. The Southern Cemetery is one next to Hamburg Cemetery Ohlsdorf and South West Stahnsdorf in Berlin at the largest park-like cemeteries in Germany. (Source: Wikipedia) The complex of plant chapel, crematorium and columbarium is also located still a very interesting and photogenic building almost in the center of Leipzig's Südfriedhof. Please regard the visitors especially in this location.
The cemetery is a popular destination in Leipzig. Especially on weekends, there are a lots of walkers.
