Castle Grounds Machern

Region: Machern, Germany
Owner of this garden which stands under monument protection is the township Machern. On a total area of about 34 ha, there are numerous places for appealing photos. The landscape garden was created in its present form and extent substantially in the years 1782-1797. This was a time in which prevailed the free and natural thoughts in the garden art. The garden belongs together with the Woerlitzer Park to the first parks were laid out in English style in Germany. In addition to an extensive and idyllic pond (but mysteriously often has no water ...), there are some points of interest: the Tempel of Hydra, a shooting wall, a ruined castle, a knight's castle, a pyramid, and still many more.
